Keep your cushion in good condition
Your outdoor cushions go through a lot. From being stuffed into storage at the end of the season, to being left out in the rain, to dropping food or drinks on them during the barbecue. To make sure they last longer and remain looking good, you need to keep them clean.
Maintenance in 3 steps
1. Remove stains
Stains on cushions should be removed in one go. Make sure you remove spilled drinks or sauce quickly. Use a sponge or soft brush, but do not use water. Apply standard detergent gently to the stain to loosen it from the fabric, but never rub! Rinse the solution thoroughly off the cushion and let it air-dry.
2. Wash by hand
Always follow the instructions on the fabric label before washing. Removable cushion covers are best washed by hand, using a standard detergent at up to a maximum of 30 degrees. You can only put the cover in the washing machine if you have a hand wash programme on your washing machine. Let your cover air dry completely before putting it back on the cushion. Never put covers and cushions in the dryer and avoid drying in the sun to avoid discolouration.
3. Store your cushions
Our advice is not to leave garden cushions outside at the end of the day. Not even under a canopy. Bring them inside or store them in one of our special boxes or covers. These protective covers are easy to use and also ideal for winter storage. The covers are available for both cushions and parasols.
MadisonĀ® covers
Sometimes storing cushions can be inconvenient. They lie in a heap in a garden shed, garage or junk room all winter long. This is easily solved with these cushion covers. This keeps all your cushions together and keeps them protected too. In addition, these covers make it convenient to take your cushions with you.
Parasol covers
MadisonĀ® also has protective covers for parasols. These provide excellent protection against rain and dirt. The suncover is easy to use and also ideal for winter storage. The covers come in 3 types for the standing and hanging parasol.
